Drying out water damaged floor joists and concrete after a on-going leak.?
My irrigation system by my front door has been leaking underground. This has cause water to enter the property and rot the wooden floor. I’ve taken the irrigation system out and made air hole in the floor to allow circulation. The floor joist are damp and the concrete under the joist also feels damp.
I have dug away the soil by the door exposing everything above the foundation. You can see where the irrigation system has eaten away channels of the concrete. Prior to having the floor re-fitted, how long should it take for the moisture to subside ? Its now getting plenty of air. Its winter hear in South Africa, no rain but only appox 13 – 14c temperature during the day at present.
